There is usually some restraint from posting brand new releases, but this week the excitement is too large. The new Doom offerings have not left the CD player and the Church is burning. 30 years after their first release and 17 years after their last, Doom return in majestic form with a new album that is bound to become a classic. They do not pursue the mechanistic sonic experiments of Where You Life Lies but return to their evil blend of metallic contortions with epic thrash attacks, vicious riffage and these incredible bass lines: Still Can't the Dead sums up pretty much everything they did up to Illegal Soul, brought to a new level of zeristicism. Completely awesome marvel of the zeriverse!
NRAR! The No More Pain double reissue is also a cosmically magnificent restitution of the monstrous debut. I am usually skeptical about remastered reissues but this one is breathing a new kind of living death into the album and offers a new worthwhile experience of No More Pain. I don't think I might even listen to the original again... Theses two new versions sound different from each other (the CD being more comfortable and pleasing, as usual) and more powerful than the original. Their monumental take on the Venom | GISM sound is heightened to new dimensions. Amazing job of megatriplazer!

RELOAD ALARM! The Rammer rip made me realize a little late that a few weeks ago I inadvertently switched on a setting that introduced a 2 second blank between each sound file. No big deal except for live recordings where this blank really is annoying so I regenerated the affected live releases (glad that I am so lazy and do not cleanup the computer that often, I still had the wav files) No new rips, just better file separation for these classic killer thrashing monsters. The Rammer rip was also cleaned-up & reloaded, in case you got the bad version with blanks between songs. Sorry for the fuck-up.

Rammer

Rammer - Siege Of Madness - 2014
01. Rammer - Siege Of Madness, 2014 Vinyl 12" 45 RPM Album Limited Edition - RELOADED (inter-track silence removed)
     Schizophrenic Records - Schiz 58
Quintuple zer for this unavoidable piece of killer thrashing crossover orgy. Rammer were always amazing in their quest for maximum thrashization, but this is probably the epitome of their craft. The riffs are incredibly intense and the rythmic bulldozer operates at the same level of heaviosity driven by this venomous voice of absolute carnivorous attack. The hardcore thrash expertise displayed here may translate into a general absorption of the Accüsed, Voïvod, Wehrmacht, Attitude Adjustment and Assassin updated in the 666th dimension. It's not that it sounds really like that, but that's how excited it makes me. The general feeling of this way too fucking short record is of the listener's double murder by total defenestration. Ripping super killer triplazer! In the eternal Canadian metal top ten!  Bang that head against all walls and into the crypts of zer!

Zer of the above! Among other marvels from the classic Welcome To 1984 compilation, I was strongly hit by the N.O.T.A. blazing track. Propaganda Control kicks so much zer!  80s hardcore punk at its zerrest! Their album remains a large stone in that division for anyone into the FU's and Offenders. Give Em Enough Dope is more of a UK punk rock sounding thing and will stimulate the glands of anyone that has ever sported red hair. But let me just blast the 1985 album again! Back to the future!
PS: track 1 on Give Em Enough Dope is blank in the rar, get the real one here.

In the series "let's read the religious best-sellers", after the bible and the koran I just finished Thomas Piketty's Capital Au XXIe Siècle (Capital in the 21st Century).

I was expecting something at least a little challenging, maybe even philosophically sound as the thing has become the bible of the cult of the State since its publication. But no, this is neither an economy book, nor even a historically accurate text, this is rather the militant writing of an arithmetically competent yet praxeologically impaired accountant with an opinion. It is like reading an astrologer attempting to write an astronomy essay.
It is really frightening that such a piece of propaganda got so much credit and influence in the media and the political arena, but it figures: Rothbard explained long ago the role of "the intellectuals". Confirmed.
Make up your own mind, both versions (original French & official English translation) can be downloaded as PDF from the books page, bottom section.

Requested centuries ago, finally rezerred. Avenger erupt from the bowels of NWOBHM and particularly from the incestuous gang formed by Satan, Atomkraft, Tysondog, Blitzkrieg etc. Brian Ross (Satan/Blitzkrieg/Blind Fury) sings on the Too Wild To Tame EP, Ian Swift sang in Atomkraft, Satan and Tysondog, and all these bands swapped drummers, guitarists and so on. The first copy I bought of Tysondog's Beware Of the Dog even had Avenger's Blood Sport B side (a true collector pressing error). Avenger are an awesome band and truly underrated - at least as much as Chateaux and Tygers Of Pan Tang, faithful to the style popularized by early Judas Priest, Saxon and Maiden albums (their Killers cover on the new album is... killer!). Blood Sports is still my favorite, it is almost speed metal, catchy yet dark and highly energetic. Of course, intense soloing and clean vocals in spandex abound, but that's what we expect after almost 35 years of headbanging happiness! Avenger triplazer heavymetalizer forever!

     Shiver Records - SHR 018
Fast & intense attack of triplazer! Inquisitor evolve in the limbo between thrash, death and black chainsaws and bomb you from there with merciless missiles of metal carnage. They more or less sound like a mix of Sadus, Impaled Nazarene and Ripping Corpse - as fast and crazy as any of these zerrest purveyors of blissful sonic bulldozing. No, this album is not very flexible nor diplomatic, but we love it virulent and loud, yes! Bleed from both aural orifices and melt that neuron til zer!

Not requested, and for the very first time: the very almighty doom death of Paradise Lost! The first three LPs have been a major pillar of the Church of Zer since they were offered to the ecstatic masses. The beautiful ugliness of this slow dirge was all that was needed after the introduction by Distortion X and Hellhammer to the much revered slow paces of doom. Icon was a downer with its offensive Metallica mimicking, but appears a great album nonetheless. However the following releases triggered none of these positive feelings, although I heard some good stuff from the last couple of albums. But nothing beats the early stuff, especially  that brutal live bootleg yellow EP, argh! Long live the early 90s! Doom until the spine goes back into the skull!

NRAR: the Church humbly apologizes for the mistake in the previous post: the Osservati rip posted in 2012 was actually the CD rip, wrongly tagged as the LP rip. Today we have both in all clarity and exactitude. The CD being also a vinyl rip, does all this matter? Yes, because today you get my own LP rip, which is inferior to the CD, what a bargain. My LP was played so many times it is all worn out. I bought it (chez Bunker) the day after the show posted here because I was totally blown away (it was my first contact with Indigesti, the universe is large, the zeriverse was still very narrow), and I have remained hooked ever since. This album is one of the hottest releases out of the legendary Italian scene, and simply one essential hardcore masterpiece worldwide. Forever rethrashing the triplazer!
